I'm in for at least $20, I've asked a couple of the more "in charge" people where to send it or why this hasn't been arranged, but I haven't heard back.

As soon as I have an address to send it, it's in the pay pal acct waiting for a destination.

I am waiting for word back on the proper way to handle this.
I want to make sure your donations go to the right place and get taken care of correctly.I also dont want to have people send me money as some could think that might not be the right way either.
I think we should do a raffle or something at the next meet. or do something along those lines. I am not 100% comfortable with the fact of people sending me money. I think we can get the right way to do this setup.

I think that a collection cup at the next meeting would be a great way to do this and i would deffinetely make sure to bring some extra money for it.

You are in a difficult and unique situation. Interesting, huh? The meeting next week will have a raffle and the possibility of donations to recoup your loss (which I believe you deserve).
However, you should not handle the money for obvious reasons.

I will volunteer to collect donations and publish a public accounting of dollars collected if you wish. Donations could be via paypal to me (or someone else) or at the meeting. Raffle proceeds will go where the club determines with proper accountability.

Dave, buddy. Please be careful how this is handled. I think you have been up front and gracious to date, but no money has been involved. I do not want you to get in a situation that could be construed as self-serving or selfish. My suggestion is that you remain neutral and stay out of the money thing (until the end that is).

Members and interested parties. Let me know how to proceed. Steve, would you like to be the prime?

I'd like to kick in - but I won't be at meeting.
It's hard to keep track of which thread is doing what.
I think a new thread needs to be started that clearly states in the title that it's the thread to contribute to Dave's loss.
