I was down there in October and visited that store. He was friendly and it was a nice little store.

I'm amazed how many stores down there have SPS, it's harder to find up here.

I only went to Sea in the City 3 times. I only made it inside one time. The other times were during business hours but no one was there. It would be nice if someone was there next time.

They have the most beautiful ric shrooms in Orlando. A little pricey, but amazing color and quality. Hope they keep the quality and lower the price. I do love that store, though. Waterfaller1 better still be working there. She is so involved in RC that it would be a shame for them to lose her. Even though she did not do it directly or intentionally on RC, she has swayed many a people to shop there(including myself, and I thank her wholeheartedly).

Anyone know what Doug is going to be doing?

He is a great guy and has been a big part of the Central Florida reef-scene for years.

If I can give some advice to the new owners; I loved Sea in the City for a few reasons.

1) The Corals are great. He always offered smaller frags that other stores don't seem to carry.

2) Good advice.

3) Probably the most important is this: I have NEVER seen a fish there that had Ich or bought a fish there that ever ended up showing any signs of Ich. In fact, its the only store I started buying fish from simply b/c I was afraid of getting ich. Anything that you can do to keep this up will make the switch-up A++.

Well, Doug did a great job and I plan to follow his game plan. SITC was my favorite store also and that's why I bought it! The only plans I have at this point is to expand the product line and livestock selections. Marcye

It was great meeting you this weekend. Please let me know how those sps do, especially that green one. I'm anxious to see what that does as it grows. Hope to see you at the O.R.C.A. conference in July as it should be a great event. Marcye

marcye it was nice meeting you on sat, i stoped by with my girlfriend to check things out and chat with carole. you looked like you had things well in order. SITC was my fav lfs,, i always liked the decent prices, and very high quality of fish and corals, and if you keep it up to the normal standards, i can assure you will see me coming back time and time again. are you going to take frags from people for credit at all? what are some of you future plans for SITC? also, are you going to do the credit for O.R.C.A members like doug did?

Hey SKirrby...I'm not sure how much I'm allowed to type here as there are many rules RC has and I certainly don't want to break those. I will continue to be a sponsor of ORCA, it's a great club and I have a blast at the frag auctions (just wait 'til next time Nathan...:) I will continue the member discount, the same as Doug had. As I do want to expand my SPS, mushroom and Ricordia selections with some more unique items, stop by or PM me with what you have and we'll see what we can work out. Everything I bring in to SITC will be quarantined and observed before adding to the store tanks...just as a precaution and for everyone's piece of mind, so I will be limited by what my separate frag tanks can hold. It was great meeting you this weekend and I hope you'll be back often. Thanks! Marcye

Audrey, I think you'll love the meetings. (Jason, you better get yourself back here for the auctions...they just won't be the same without you:) I know you will be very welcome. The President, George and JoAnne, the brains of the operation;) are really great and I know you will be very welcome. The meetings have incredible presentations as well. As far as the conference, I think it's going to be fantastic... there's alot of serious planning going into it. I would sign up ASAP though because I know they are cutting off at a certain number of participants. Keep in touch if you need anything. Marcye

Teach,

We had 150 people attend in July 03 when Anthony Calfo spoke and our capacity isn't much higher for this one. I worked on the Calfo event and I'm on the committee for this event. We have several more people working on this and we are wayyyyyyy more organized this time with quite a bit of manpower going in to marketing. These factors along with the club being so much better known here's no doubt in my mind we will sell out.

So, my point is if you want to insure a seat definitely get your ticket in advance. In case you aren't able to make it to one of our meetings you can find more info, register and pay online at

This event will definitely sell out. We just had 5000 flyers printed that are being sent out all over the Southeast.
