How long do you run your carbon?

Just want to know how long you guys run your carbon? I was told 2-3 days, a week or even longer. I ran mine for like 2.5 weeks and ........WOW my water was clear! But I was scared to run it anything pass that, should I be? Let me know how long you guys run yours.

You can safely run it forever, but you have to change it when it becomes depleted (or full I guess is more accurate).

I run mine 24/7. I change it out about every couple weeks. I wish there was a way to know when the carbon is depleted.

I run 3.5 cups in 350g passive in the sump for 30 days.

A cup per 100 gallons, is my rule of thumb. I prefer to use less and change it out more often.

I doubt you are using too much. It's pretty hard to use "too much". Don't forget, it also depends on how much bio load you have in your tank.
