I have found some Limestone. It is Bright white, with no other colors. Very nice size pieces, and shapes.

However it is more solid, and smooth than I want. What I was wondering will over time the rock get pours with the worms and what not in the tank.

Or since Vinegar dissolves Limestone. Can you dip the plain piece in vinegar water and make it dissolve and make the rock rougher instead of smooth?

It will get rouger in acid, but it won't really get to looking like it has holes into it. I expect it will stay flat looking for a very long time in a reef aquarium. It will probably get roughened faster by coralline growth than by boring organisms.

Thanks Randy.

Do you think this is something that will look more natural as time goes on?

It will look more natural as it is covered in coralline algae, but will still look flat if that is how it starts.

What about whacking at it with a small hammer? Not breaking off huge pieces, but just taking out little notches here and there to break the symmetry?
