Looks to possibly be a Formosa, the other acro savvy keepers might be able to better Id it but the quality of the pic is a little off.

think it is a green slimer from what they say.

My bet would be green slimer (acropora yongei), but the pic is not the best.

It's hard to get good pics and this one isn't perfect but does the coral in question look like this?

The color can run from dark green to almost yellow depending on lighting, flow, feeding, and the overall water quality. I have some in my frag tank that are real dark green. Color isn't a firm method of coral ID.

The green slimer is a great coral and grows pretty fast. Enjoy!

I think its a green slimer as well. Just got one tonight, and the growth pattern from mama colony was just like that.

huh, then what I thought was a slimer is not :). It has no growth pattern as of yet but when it grows out I will post it.

Nice coral by the way.

You will know if it's a slimer...by..well it's slime, hence it's name:D It looks more like a formosa to me.Exactly what color is it?Bright or subdued green?

I thinkit is a formosa too. What I have does slime. But then again so do my millies when my hand goes in the tank.

I agree that it looks like a formosa, or even a stag, but the green slimer has been classified as a Yongei
http://whelk.aims.gov.au/coralsearch/html/001-100/Species%20pages/81.htm

Actually, I think it's closer to Acropora tumida
http://whelk.aims.gov.au/coralsearch/html/501-600/Species%20pages/558.htm

But, there are so many that are so similar and colors have morphed so much, that it is hard to identify for sure. Eric Borneman has a great thread on identifying coral but you need a microscope to do it properly.

In case any of you are interested, he is scheduled to be one of our speakers at our event on July 23rd. It's going to be a great event with the speakers we have lined up.

Not that it really matters though because even

I agree with Moray all the way. Except for his pic. Only due to the fact he has a new camera and needs to update the pic.

That is a new pic. That's the frag that grew out with the cool pattern. But, I had that macro lens on when I took that pic and the depth of field is too shallow to have the whole frag in focus.
