Instant Ocean Reef Crystals

Anyone have any problems with IO Reef Crystals? I just made 20g of water for a water change and I noticed after I mixed the salt the water smells heavily of burnt rubber. I checked the ro/di water and that is fine and my buckets haven't been used for anything else. The salt slightly smells of rubber but no where as bad as the water. Anybody have any ideas of what happened.

There was a bad batch of IO crystals a little while back. So if you have had it sitting around a while, you could have part of the bad batch!

That salt would have had to been sitting around an extremely Long time. Check the Alk when you make it up and then let it sit 30min and check again. The problem with the bad batch was a huge Alk swing was occurring.
