It'll work perfectly, but you'll be wasting some electricity. The looks might be an issue, I guess.

hey bertoni...if you where me and you had a 24 inch deep hex tank and wanted to keep mainly lps , some softies, and some zoos, which light would you choose?

The Aqualight Pro, but I'd do a search here first for other units. For the corals you mention, you might be fine with PCs.
