Clams stuff together?

Anyone know how to get clams apart? We have two clams that got too close to each other and now their feet are attached. They've been this way for weeks now. Any ideas on how to separate them would be great.

You can try putting a flat piece of rubble in between them and hope that one clam will attach to that instead of each other, but I dont think you can forceably separate them without major damage.
