I'm installing a mangrove sump under my mostly softie tank. I want a powerful return current to give my tank some nice motion. I'm using a pump estimated at 680 gph at 4 feet with a squid to alter the return from one side of the tank to the other.

Is this too much current for my little tank? I want to give my tank some healthy movement, but not power wash the softies off the rock.

Is that 680 after the SCWD or before? SCWDs eat up a lot of flow.

The 680 is before the scwd.

Then I think you'll be getting under 500 gph, which isn't too much for your 29g.
