i added a HOB refugium to my 40g reef tank, but it said i needed a seperate pump to move water into the refugium. what i did instead was to attach a pipe to the inlet of the skimmer pump and put the pipe into the tank and i moved the skimmer and its pump (ocean runner) into the refugium. The pump is now pulling water out of the tank via the pipe and the skimmer outlet if filling up the refugium. the skimmer is working correctly so far, and theres 1 less pump in the main tank.
My question, is this ok to do ? or are there any problems that could arise?
