ARO VHO Ballast

What actually is the difference between the ARO ballast and the IceCap ballast other than the price difference?:confused:

Ice Cap has a built in protection circuit that will shut down the ballast in case of a lamp failure or open or short circuit. Not sure what the ARO has or if they can run T5's.

Ice Capcan also run the longer lamps if that is a concern.

I'm not sue the difference with the flourescent ballasts, but I prefer the aro ballasts over Icecaps for halide lighting, there are many e-ballasts out there, reasurch, do not limit yourself to icecap, you have many options.

I just noticed your tank is 300 gallons. Take into account the number and length lamps you want to run. That will narrow your choices a bit.
