This snail was brought to me by a friend and I'm not sure what it is, or what it eats... I've only had my tank for a little over 2 months and everything in it seems to be doing great(not much in it though). I have a 55 gallon tank, and the snail is still in it. I'm not sure if I should keep it in there... I don't even know what it eats yet. I'm doing some reading on my own, but I think you guys can probably help me on this one a lot faster.

Thx

You should take it back to where it came from.

I is a type of whelk. It lives in the seagrass and mud flats , I do not think that you can mantain this guy longterm. It eats other molluscs, and crabs.
I would think/speculate you would need filtration like for a predator tank, and only corals that can live with dirtier water.

Yeah... I'll do that. Don't really know where he got it exactly, but I know it was in St. Pete.

Thx for your help.

It's a tulip snail, Fasciolaria sp. Like Boricua said it eats other mollusks.
