Are these any good. Would they be too much flow for a 120. How about used on a CL with a T4

Thanks

I'm tagging along as I currently have an AGA 120 with dual megaflows and 2 SCWD's and am thinking of getting rid of the SCWD's and just having t's so that I still have 4 outlets. I am running this with a MAG24 that is about 8' below the tank (in my basement sump).

Tooo much or too little is going to be determined by what you are actually keeping in the tank and how/where you position the penductors. From what I have seen they work very well and I will be using 2-3 in the future.

well it would most likely be a T4 on a 120 Gallon AGA with megaflows. The T4 would be the CL. It would be a BB tank, starboard.

One or two?

Any other suggestions.

Is the T4 strong enough, @3 feet 1250 gph

would i use 3/4 eductors or 1 inch

You are only going to have 3 feet of head pressure on that T4? Are you accounting for T's and 90 degree truns when you get that number?

nice pics shawn28 i was thinking about a set up like that. how r u cramming the VHO 4 tubes in there with the 250's?

Man if you r running an AMP 3000, my T4 CL is going to be weak.

Looks like that will be return

Shawn28 is yours drilled for CL?

No no closed loop on mine. I have the Amp3000 with a manifold on it using 3 outlets on the manifold. One goes to a SWQD and they pump thru the holes I drilled in the back of the tank. The other two go thru the overflow returns and are Y'd off to make each one 2 returns so I have 6 total. Remember though the Ampmasters are low RPM so they don't handle pressure as well as a high speed pump like an Iwaki, Gen-X or the T5. I will have to get some new pics up sometime cause those are from like October.

As for yours I would guess you are going up vertically 3' then will be using 1 T to split them off and probably 2 90's to get them into the back of the tank you will end up with more like 5 or 6 feet of head pressure.

If you want mega flow I would look at using a Sequence Dart for the closed loop. Moves a ton of water (at 6' moves 2400 gallons and at 8 feet moves 1800). They are very quiet, energy effecient and unlike that T5 will not heat up your tank.

Once I move my sump to the basement and add my other tank I will be using a Hammerhead myself(hoping it will do the job once I add up all my plumbing)
