I think I may have persuaded my wife to come along also, so best behaviour when I introduce her to all the "fish people" ... :D

So whats "best" mean anyways :D

We'll leave her with a good impression, no worries ;)

Darn! And I was hoping we would have a "salt water chugging contest." Those non-fish people always ruin the fun.

She's not all that bad! Infact she "pursuaded" me to upgrade to a 210 instead of the 150 I was looking at :D. I did have to think about it for a second or 2.

And, ironically enough, I have very few fish in my tank :)

Wow.... a wife who actually supports your passion for Reefs...

Sigh.....

Wouldn't that be nice...

Luckily for me my wife is an accountant, and loves going over my fish expenses each month.

Sigh...

LOL

My wife used to be a CPA but moved on to something entirely different.

Infact, it was my wife that got me into this hobby in the first place! I had mentioned I wouldn't mind having a reef tank, then for my birthday about 7 years ago I get this new tank and off I went ....

Now if only it didn't cost so much to run the thing I might be able to afford something to put in it ;)

LOL....

Man your wife bought you your first tank??

WOW!!!

The only reason I have a tank, (well what I tell my wife anyways) is for my son, as he loves animals, especially fish!!

Yeah,

This is a very costly hobby!! I thought the tank would cost most, but overall it is nothing compared to corals, livestock, LR, skimmers, etc...

Well now I am looking at getting an ASM G3 Skimmer.

Now to figure out how to slide that one into my ever shrinking Reef budget.

LOL

Herein lies my big dilema - Corals/Fish or Kids

sirhelm
03/30/2005, 01:05 PM
You can have both!!

Those 3am feedings are great time to see what is going on in your tank.

Gives you something to do while you spend an hour rocking your baby back to sleep!!

:D

Jim - you know the cyphastrea was in there since last week from another shipment and I'm surprised no one picked it up.

I had a double take when first saw it as from a distance it looked like just another acro but then I noticed it didn't have axials :D.

That's so telling :P. Anyway FWIW I picked up what looked to be a true A.echinata there last week (but bleached on me next day) along with a solid teal with purple polyp gomezi and a couple of cool new corals I've not seen before. I'm guessing that there is a new collection area coming out of Fiji where these are coming from. From that same shipment I also saw a tutu but someone just got it ahead of me.

The echinata was very delicate and fragile just like in Veron's book - too bad it wasn't in good shape.

I've been neglecting AG lately as it's hard to get motivated for the drive. If Bao is getting interesting LPS though, that will change.-Jim

Jim,

Bao is very open to suggestions on what to order and is always looking for opinions so just ask em. He just called and said he can order more of those :)

Man, this is great! This event is the day before my Birthday so I'll actually get to go! I wonder if he'll have any True Percs? I think I may pick up some Sps and Lps too, He will probably have a few brain corals right?

Thanks Dr. Le for the help in picking out the purple acro and orange monti and for the deal you gave me on them. I was very impressed with your store and will make the drive to visit often. My students will be impressed by the new editions to our aquarium and i'm sure they'll look forward to more. Let me know if you have any good ideas for editons. My tank was FOWLR and is now turning into a sps/lps mix tank under 2 10 k's and 2 actinics. Oh yeah, great egg rolls!

Thanks

It did get pretty crazy in there, but that's a good thing. My gf and I walked away with about 11 pieces.
