feeding techniques?

hello to all, after month's of this website and every store within 2 hours of my home, i'm finally up and running. tank is about a month old now. had a few fish about a week. my question is when i put some formula1 in the tank wether frozen or thawed, it swirls around so fast and then it's sucked into the prefilter and gone. does anyone have any secrets to make the food hang around a little longer so my guys can eat! thanx-brian

What I do is place the frozen cube in a small cup with some tank water. I swirl it around in there for a bit until it thaws and then use a syringe to feed the tank slowly and make sure everyone gets a bit. It takes a few minutes but is worth it and prevents food from going everywhere and being wasted. You may also want to turn off your pumps while you feed, that way more food for the fish and less for the filters.
