Is anybody going? I've tried to go to all of these and made it to most of them. Afterwards there is an optional shop hop and I think some stores stay open late. It's only a few hours from Cleveland, and you can bypass Detroit's traffic to reach Ann Arbor.

Here's the details from their website:

The Marinelife Aquarium Society of Michigan invites you to a premier conference with some of the best known Aquarists in the hobby today. Join us for a full day of exciting marine aquarium lore, and meet other hobbyists from across the Midwest. The list of speakers is now finalized and I am very excited to announce the following line-up of speakers.

Anthony Calfo
Kelly Jedlicki
Steven Pro
Adam Cesnales

Lectures with slides will last about one hour, followed by a half hour of questions and answers for each of our distinguished speakers. Registration begins at 8:00am sharp, with the first speaker starting at 9:00am. After the second speaker a sumptuous hot luncheon buffet, followed by the final two speakers. At 4:00pm the conference will conclude with a raffle and some meet and greet time.

Weber's Inn, of Ann Arbor is the site for this wonderful conference in the Great Lake State. Aquarists from though out the Midwest will find a wealth of area attractions well suited to Marine Enthusiasts, including the Belle Isle Aquarium (North America's Oldest), The Detroit Zoo, with breathtaking suspended 2000 gallon Marine Aquarium, and our local coral farm, Tropicorium in Romulus, Michigan is a favorite stop. Several excellent marine aquarium stores, and perhaps a few of our members tanks are well within an hour's drive from Ann Arbor.
Tickets for the event are $55 per person

Anyone up to car pooling? I live near the Turnpike's I71 exit, so it might be convenient for you to park at my house and ride the rest of the way.

I just wanted to mention that I am giving a presentation titled "Selecting Healthy and Appropriate Marine Fishes" which I have NOT given to C-SEA before.

Otherwise, these guys always put on a good show. I have gone several times as a paid attendee and always enjoyed myself. Plus, you can easily visit Tropicorium, too.

It's April. How many Clevelanders are going to this event? We have always had a good size contigent in the past.

If we are car pooling, we will leave Cleveland at 5:00AM, attend the conference and any shop or tank tours that night and return once those are ended, or we all agree we are ready to go, which ever comes first. There is a DVD player in my van so we can watch (except the driver) any reef or marine DVD's people have. Probably time for one each way since it is 2 hours and "39" minutes, give or take. I'm used to driving long trips, Cleveland to Naples, FL, Cle to Iowa, Cle to Wyoming, Cle to DC or NYC, so this is just a HOP!
