bubble algea vs freshwater?

I was removing some bubble algea off a rock (rubble piece with small frag) and after i took it all off and through it away i knew that some had popped...so I ran it under the faucet in that area to wash off all the bubble algea "spores?" I was wondering if this would rid all the spores preventing it from growing in that area again?

Anyone know?
