Sup! I currently have a maxijet 1200 connected to my CPR BakPak. I am getting excellent skimming action, but creating a lot of bubbles in the tank. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to remedy this? I have tried adjusting the amount of air coming into the maxijet, but found I only have a small margin to play with. It goes from great to nothing pretty fast....

Thanks!

They have an attachment for those skimmers that eliminates bubbles. Its basically a box with the bottom cut out. There's a sponge at the bottom for the water to pass through. The box goes over the return from the skimmer. It basically confines the bubbles to the box.

I know for remoras, there is a break in period. Is your skimmer broken in? New skimmers will let a lot of bubbles into the tank. The bubbles are harmless, but just an eyesore.

CPR sells sponges that help reduce bubbles. He's a link to a vendor:

try adjusting the return pipe. instead of making the water come into the tank flat adjust the return pipe so that water return more of a verticle position. This makes some of the air bubbles stay in the return pipe instead of coming into your tank.

If that doesn't work, get the cpr bubble trap.

Here's the link to the bubble trap: http://amekaaquatics.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=NBT&Category_Code=CPR_BP2_Accessories

My friend has one and it works great.

Thanks for all the replies! I appreciate the input. I stuffed a cut piece of sponge filter media in to the return pipe, and this alone reduced the bubbles tremendously! Good work around until I get a bubble trap.

Thx!
