Acrlyic :
PROs lighter, stronger, last longer, and clearer
CONS more money, scratchs easy (can be fixed)

Glass :
PROs Cheaper and Doesnt scratch easy (but if it doest its for life)
CONS heavy, have been known to leak or break, not as clear

Im sure there is a few more prons and cons for each but these are the big ones i think.

Oh that the case , i guess i choose acrlyic.

how you think?

so which company u suggest ? actually i dont intend to spend much on aquarium tanks . i jus want it to be good and nice . reasonable .

ya?

If money is an issue, go to www.recycler.com . They have many good used tanks and complete systems for that matter. I did and saved literally thousands of $$$.

I have a 125 acrylic. I have it for piece of mind, not to say all glass tanks leak tho. looks very clean. Also i like mine because of the front rounded corners. no seams in the front.

I thought most of the guys in California preferred acrylic over glass due to earthquake hazards. Acrylic is generally a little more forgiving for bumbs and shaking.

Depending on what you want to spend, you could look at Lee Mar tanks of our California. Nice tanks, but they don't ship all over.

125 Acrylic would be 125 gallon acrylic. You said you were an experienced Marine Keeper. Tell us a little more about your experience...

I agree doug about the experience but i didnt want to burst his bubble.

Jeff I have a "clear for life" brand tank but thats acrylic and you said you want glass. If i were to get another acrylic tank i whould have it custom built.

How much are you willing to spend and we can point you in the direction you should go.

My sister bought a 50 gallon uniaquarium with stand, 4 55w power compact lights, built in filtration, live rock and live sand tank was up and running when she got it for 225.00 Bought off ebay.

I bought my complete setup for 750.00 it was comlete with wet dry filters, pc lights, uv light, pump, stand everything ready to run. no live stuff. Ofcourse since then i have converted to reef and put about 3-4 times that amount into it and still need more. I found this one on ebay also but didnt meet reserve so i talked to the owner after the auction was over.

You can find things if you look. Check in the selling forums here. Also post in the want to buy. But you have to know what your looking for and what your willing to spend.

acrylic is nice for a custom tank or a specific brand you want shipped to your door. but the mall near me sells a 125g tank new for $225. So, I'll have to go glass

Is that 125g tank drilled with an overflow? For a tank that size, or any size in my opinion, I really suggest a pre-drilled tank and sump configuration.

I dont think for 225 you would get a internal over flow. Probley not even drilled. But then again glass is pretty cheap. On a small tank i wouold go glass I wouldnt go glass on a 100 gallon and up tank.

integlikewhoa

Depends on how much money you have to spend on a tank. 240 is big for what most people have or start with.
