Hi Randy,
It has been a while since I needed your advice, but I think I need it now.
I recently installed a calcium reactor on my 130 gal (total volume) system. My alk and ca numbers seem too high.
Alk 15.5 LaMotte kit
Ca 500 Salifert kit
pH 8.1-8.2 The pH came back up to this after I put the reactor effluent into an overflow cup with an airstone. Prior to that, it was dropping to 7.95 at night. *.2 is what I had before the reactor.
Should I scale back the reactor? Or are these numbers acceptable? I am planning on the addition of several SPS and clams, so they might bring the levels down naturaly. Right now, I only have LPS, so they use less.
Please advise.
