Anyone interested in a Coral Beauty? As soon as I catch him that is. I should be able to catch him in the next 24-48 hours. The little woman wants a flame angel instead. He is mostly purple with less orange coloring than normal. He is beautiful with no blemishes at all. I believe he is just about full grown if not already. If no one wants him he goes back to the LFS. Make an offer.

John this isnt for your reef tank is it? If it is then you are really taking a chance with the flame angel picking on your corals. I think my coral beauty may be starting to pick on some of mine but from what I hear the flame angel is more likely to pick.

Yes its for the reef. That really puts a damper on my mood. I was hoping that beauties and flames were similar in chances. My beauty doesn't touch any corals whatsoever.

John, if you have not already, check out last month's issue of Reef Keeper (linked on your site) There is a very good article on a genus of angles with good reef manors and good colors
hope it helps

no problem, I was thinking of adding a couple different genicanthus species to my reef tank, but they are more than a bit on the pricey side from what I have read (not seen in a Lfs yet though)
good luck with what ever angles you add: from what I have read if you feed them a good mix of foods that most often they are not all bad guys

I have had a Flame, Cherub and Potters in my 225 Reef without any picking on my corals. I think proper feeding and a little luck is the key with angels.

Thats what I was hoping. I always keep my coral beauty fed well and have had zero problems with him.

I'm only keeping him till Sunday then he goes back to the LFS. They will probably only give me $5-6 so that's what I'll take for him. This is a very good opportunity for someone.

If the anemone in my 12gal nano wasn't so big I would put him in there.

GBTA along with a gold striped maroon clown. I think I'm going to have to upgrade to a bigger tank for them.

Marinedepotlive and liveaquaria say it would be ok in a 20g tank. I'll take it if you're ok with it going into a 20 high. It would share the tank with 1 false perc, a xenia frag, 3 kenya tree frags and a pistol shrimp. Other inverts include reg-leg hermits, 2 turbo snails, and 5 astrea snails.
