Would you reefers concider Dual 400w MH and 4x32w PC Actinics too much light or lighting for a 75g reef?
I am very interested in keeping mostly SPS and light demanding corals and possibly clams.
I realize that it's around 11 watts per gallon and could run into heat issues during summer time. Does anyone run somewere close to 11 watts per gallon or more and have and issue? How about without an issue?
Thanks

I think you would be fine with 250's myself. If you can keep the heat down the 400w would server you great, but I think it would be overkill. You should be able to straight trade the setup for a good 250w setup I would think. Actually your 55g setup would work fine as well. That is what I am using on my 90 and I have SPS growing just fine.

I agree with Entropy. I have 2 250 watt de on my 75 and my sps grow great.

What risk would I be running if I stay with the dual 400w MH?

2 x 250W MH would be enough for your tank, even the SPS corals.

I have the Custom Sealife Pendent and ballast. Anyone know if I am able to use 250w bulb on that pendent. Maybe that may work, what do you reefers think?
