I recently bought the Odyssea 175W DE HQI 20000K MH with two 18W PC system. So far, its worked fine and a great price of only $149. The website advertized the mounting legs spreading to a max of 24". I've only been able to spread them to 19.5". The only way I can figure out to get them to 24" is to drill holes to secure the legs to. I also have hardware to hang the lights, but prefer not to because I have a very high cieling.

I've tried to email and phone Odyssea's customer service, but get no replies or only a message.

Does any body who has this lighting system no how to mount the legs to 24" width? Or do you think they sent me the wrong size legs?

I'd appreciate your suggestions on this.

Thanks!

the leg can only expande around 18" only. They did not send you the wrong leg.

I noticed that the aquatraders site now only says 17". Looks like they were wrong initially. Maybe you can hang it or mount it across the tank the other way.

Thats what I would try, turn it sideways. Then take a pic and post it because I was thinking of buying that for my 20. Good luck contacting odyssea or aquatraders or ebays aquadeal. All the same place and crappy customer service. There are threads all over about them.

I finally got hold of Aquatraders and found out a way to get the legs to spread to approx. 23.5". Drill to enlarge the small holes on the leg brakets to the same size of the larger holes. Mount the screw to the end hole on the sliding braket. Then drill into the plastic end and screw in the other hole you drilled. Repeat this on the other 3 legs. The legs do not spread a full 24", but it fits pretty snug and my tank and works a lot better than before.

P.S. I finally got them on the phone, select to place an order instead of customer service, you'll get someone on the line and once I spoke with someone, they were quite helpful.
