Sorry, but no. Those little buggers aren't exactly a zoanthid. Do a search for a GSP (Green Star Polpy) and you'll find a lot of info on them since they are the same.

I did a google search for yellow and green polyps, and they don't look like those either..... any other possibilities?

ok thanks. Will they spread quickly? I don't want them to take over the tank! lol

Yes, they spread very quickly. I regret ever putting them in my tank.

They can spread very quickly, given the right conditions, just like most corals. :) If you like them, keep them, and when they get to a point where there is too much, rip em off, mount them on rocks and take them to the LFS for trades. Its kind of like the whole xenia thing. They are like weeds in our aquariums, but they look cool (IMO), so most people have them, but they grow really quick (in most tanks) so people use them to trade for other stuff at the LFS. You won't get the best prices, but its either that or flush it down the toilet. lol

lol thanks shilo.

So when i take them from the rock they are on now, and put them on a new smaller rock to take to the LFS, they will reattach themselves.?

Yup. Either you can use a rubber band and band them on to a rock. They usually attach in a few days to about two weeks or so. Another way some ppl use is to put the stalks in a shallow bowl with some rock rubble...just leave the stalks on the rubble, and after a week or two they should be attached. Just sit the bowl in the bottom of your tank somewhere.

Yellows can be a scourge... I began scraping some off with every water change, siphoning them off about 10 at a time. I went from 3 polyps to about 300 in a matter of months. I got down to about 20 or so when I changed my 29 to a 65. Putting the rock upside down in the dark, I figured that'd take care of them. 3 months later, reaquascaping, they were all still there although a bit smaller and brownish yellow. I figure I'd let them grow. Now there's a few more, and BRIGHT yellow under 14000k 250w mh. Hope they don't go crazy again!

Funny, I have them and they don't grow very fast at all in my tank. Yet my other corals are doing great.
