I'll be piping my overflow down to the sump, and at the end of outlet I want to attach some type of sock/bag for mechanical filtration. Does someone have some advice as to what's best to use (material type and micron size) and where to get it or order it from? Thanks.

Filterbag.com

Polypro Felt - 100 Micron.

Read some of the posts here first (you have to wash/rinse them off first before you put them in the tank)

I just put my order in today.

I use the one on that marinesomething.com, you know the mail order place... 100 micron sock. Get 4 of them, change them out every week and then wash all 4 in the laudery with just a bunch of bleach. I use like 2 cups at least. After the spin I don't do anything else even though they smell of bleach, after that I just one right back in the tank. I LOVE them.

I also put a little sock full of carbon right where the water drops in so all overflow water goes through carbon also. Good Luck!

The smell of bleach scares me. I rinsed mine twice. Is it so diluted that it doesn't do anything in the tank?
