Hello all,
I am currently using a home depot energy efficient type bulb that is 6500K but only about 19w I think. It is supposed to put out an equal amount of lumens as a 70w, however I am skeptical, especially since my Cheato seems to be at a standstill as far as growth. The tank is a 26 gallon with the same footprint as a 20gallon, only its slightly taller.

I want to get a light for the fuge that will promote better growth of the cheato, while still being efficient on energy. I would prefer not to get into the higher wattages of bulb, especially since here in Cali. electricity costs can add up.

Will one of these 70w Halides, like the ones for sale on ebay help my situation?

Thanks,
~Dj

Many people have good luck with the bulb you are using. If not you can sure ly buy a higher wattage halogen cheaper than any halide. And I understand you about energy, since my fish tank and a new refrigerator bills have been crazy.
