When adding Sand

I have 160lbs of Southdown ready to pour into my tank(I may not use all of it:D); am I suppose to turn the pumps off?

1. power heads
2. Skimmer pump
3. Return pump

Yes, you'd want to shut off all pumps/powerheads. Since you already have water in the tank I would remove 1/4 of the water and hold it in a tub as the sand will displace the water volume in the tank. To reduce the sandstorm, dunk the entire bag into the water and cut off one corner to "gently" lay the sand down. Once it's all in, let it settle for a couple days then you could turn all the pumps and powerheads back up. Don't be suprised to see a thick milky froth on the top of the water, it's normal.
