It *would* work, but would not be ideal in the long run. It's a 10gpd unit, so to fill your 29g tank once would take about a week (most people get about half a unit's rated capacity). Plus, it says that the insert only lasts for 50 - 150, which isn't very much at all.

Essentially, it looks like that unit is a small sediment prefilter and a DI cartridge. It won't use standard replacement parts available from reef vendors, so you're stuck with whatever that company provides (there's no mention of price or availability of refils in that add.)

Considering that top of the line, decked out fully featured RO/DI units are dirt cheap these days (less than $100 on eBay), I personally wouldn't reccomend using anything less.

That one is alright, and much better than the first one listed.

Only problem with that ro/di unit is that it only has a 90% rejection rating, so you will use up DI resin kind of fast. But for a 29 you shouldn't be making a ton of water. So it looks good enough to me.
