Our last set of tests...

nitrate, nitrite and ammonia 0
calcium 420
alk 8dkh

today...
pH 7.8
nitrate nitite and ammonia 0
calcium 1000!!!
alk 8.4 dkh

We keep mostly LPS and have some zoos zenia and softies, we usually cant keep the calcium high enough and our ph hasnt fluctuated till now. Anyone have any idea what happend and what should we do???

What have you done to raise calcium to 1000.
I would re-test your calcium
your Ph should be at 8.1 to 8.3
Calcium 400 - 450
your Alk between 8 and 11, preferably the higher end
Salinity 1.023 - 1,025

Either your test was bad or you were adding something.

I've added Kent Liquid Ccalcium in the past, good product.

Do another test and get back to us. :)

ok, with the nutrafin calcium test i got 1000, with seatest i got 600. In our 90gal, the nutrafin tested calcium at 400 and the seatest i got 300. A 100 mpl difference between test kits is one thing, but 400 mpl???

You obviously added too much Liquid Calcium.
The calcium will gradually come down on its own. Check your alk as well. I'll bet your alk is very low. If your alk is low (below 8) and you raise it to 11 , your calcium will drop. Then re-test your Calcium.
