Im running a 90g and was wondering if anyone currently uses the ASM G-3 skimmer? Its an in-sump skimmer and want to know if anyone uses a commerically bought sump with it?

Really, why not just buy the biggest glass tank you can fit in your stand and go from there.

Make sure the skimmer isn't too tall to take the cup off.

There is an "ASM Club" here if you search for it.

I have the ASM G-2 for my 75 gallon and totally love it, I think ASM makes a great product for the cost. As for a sump, it would cost alot less to make one yourself. I purchased a new 30 gallon long tank and supplies for less than $75 and it works just as good as any $350 sump/refugium would.

Wow. Coincidentally, I just finished installing my G-3 yesterday...
I looked at some sumps online and the pricing seemed way to high. I also don't have the tools really to do any quality acrylic construction. So, like sinkingbeach, I bought a 29g tall at petsmart for $42.00, had a local glass shop cut me [3] 11 3/4" x 9" baffles out of 3/16 glass for $15.00, don't forget the silicone  $5.00... an Viola!
Custom sump  It sure beats $300.00... hth

p.s. If you do build one, I'd recommend the tall tank [18" depth] for the height on the G-3's ;)
