Im looking into buying a power compact set up. For a 20g FOWLR tank, would you get a 1x65, or 2x65?

Thanks

get the 2 65, that way you'll be able to grow into corals if you choose later

Stay away from power compact. If you want to do a nice lighting set up go with vho or T-5. They are far superior. I would go with the T-5 set up. Its a little more money but you get more light into the tank because of the reflectors and the bulbs only have to be replaced every 18 months.

ditto on the T5.
Intial cost is higher, but less power, less heat and with proper reflectors, better penetration than the PC.

You know, I got the Orbits PC 130 watts for my 20 gallon two months ago. I used the 20 gallon for a spare tank to free up room in my 55 until the move. I placed a few brains in there that were under 260 watt PCs in the 55 and they started bleaching out under the 130 watt PCs. I had to move them over to the side of the tank so they were not in direct light.
So, PLEASE do not knock those PC's...they are strong ESPECIALLY on a 20 long. I would go with the 2x65 watts, you can keep all softies, LPS and lower light SPS under that wattage.
That wattage is suitable for a 20 long or a 29 high, you will get fantastic results using that set up for a 20 long.
