Lunar Light question

I just bought a 196w Orbit pc fixture w/3lunar lights. I love the look of the lighting, but I was wondering if the lunar lights meant to be kept on all night, or are they just to help create dusk and dawn effects?

I have mine come on before my regular lights goes off and then turn off when my regular lights come on. So there is always light. It's generally a matter of preference. Some people leave them on 24hrs so as not to bother with a timer, they're very inexpensive to run.

I've got four of them in my coralife fixture and I leave them run 24/7...

I've already got the other two segments running on timers so in my case I just didn't want to fool with another timer like ctopal said...And they are LED's so they won't burn out ( for many many years) and they don't cost much to burn...
