I heard somewhere that coraline algae scratches acrylic. I don't know if this is true but would like to know your experiences. I definetely don't want glass tanks. I have a planted tank made out of acrylic, and it's really scratched from not removing sand from the magnet. I sweared I would be extra careful with my future marine tank. But I didn't know about the coraline algae scratching tanks.
Give me some feedback guys.
No it doesnt, but when you try to remove it, you may scratch the acrylic.

Well, that's the thing. How do you remove it then?
You can use a mag-float before it builds up. Or the kent scrapers, but the corraline itself will not scratch the acrylic. If you are careful and don't let it grow it wont be a problem.
