RO/DI unit questions

I just bought a RO/Di unit 5 stage 100 gpd

Heres my question,

I didnt thread my water copper inlet like it says instead i used a plastic piece that connects the faucet with the water inlet for the unit. Is there any drawbacks to this?

Also when topping off with RO water do i need to adjust the pH to 8.2?

As log as it stays put you should be fine.

You shouldn't try to adjust the pH of RO or RO-DI water when using it for top-off.
