View Full Version : Meeting 6 Volunteers

I know this is a bit early but I need a list of my usual volunteers that will be on hand. This could quite possibly be the most important meeting we have had to date.

Jason if you can do the lighting discussion that would be great.

I will be discussing Ca and Alkalinity balance in our reefs (I have been reading more and think I can explain the balance a bit better.)

Also plan to give an update on the well being of the wild reefs. It would be great if we could maybe show a DVD or something.? We could start showing it before the meeting actually starts that way people would at least be learning something while they wait. What say you Brian is this possible? If not it’s no big deal at all so don’t do anything special to arrange it, you do plenty enough for us as is.

Thanks, everyone,
Ron

As long as I'm not working or racing I'll be happy to help.

Count me in! I had such a nice time last time that I want to join in.
I wish we could arrange a non-auction meeting on the other month. I have made some other videos. One on Plywood tanks, One on trickle filters. I made them a while ago and want to redo, but for this purpose I think it would be good. If nothing else they will generate discussion.

Bummer, just checked my schedule. I'm going to be working a festival during the next meeting.

Sorry, won't be able to help out. :(

Hopefully I'll be able to make it!
That is getting pretty close to the "due date"!

I agree with Wayne. I think a smaller, non-auction, meeting (on the off months) may be nice for the more serious ones that like to discuss and meet with other reefheads.

I'm willing to do anything you need.

Good idea about the non auction meetings!

Personally I would'nt mind a non auction meeting in the near future, but this one will have an auction plus if all goes well it will be the biggest yet. Maybe #7 can be meeting only as I don't get to really meet anyone at these things LOL.

I'm in. Just so long as nothing for work comes up where I'll be out of town. I don't know of anything like that until May though.

I hope to be able to help with this one. Can do cookies and whatever else is needed. I'll ask Brian about playing a DVD.

PS. Ron, I made it home without any accidents! :D

Yeh it would be nice Chris Im just not sure we can do it? Even if we could project it would we be allowed to show it? I mean we dont charge admission so technically it seems like it would be OK the same as having 60 or so people over to watch it. But Im not sure.

no, this dvd is from the IMAX series...supposed to HD, but didn't seem so on my television, still very pretty.. I copied it from a buddy of mine.. shouldn't be any problem showing it as you can buy this particular dvd..

But most comercial movies are illegal to show in public without special permissions. Most of them say so in the intro.
I would like to see it, but it seems risky to me.

oh.. I see, just like they say it is illegal to record NFL games... I don't think it would be any problem considering we are showing it for free.. if we were charging admission, that might be an issue..

Watch the intro and FBI warnings. See if it says anything about showing it in public. If it doesn't, then it would all be cool.
I work in the printing industry, I've had copyright laws pounded into me.

I think your right Todd better safe than sorry. I could email the Co. that distributes the DVD Im sure they would'nt care as long as it was a free event as they are all about the education to the plight of the reef, but I'll reserve that for a later date as we have lots of other things we need to work on for this meeting :)
