Glass tank purchase

Question for you folks... I am in the process of upgrading to a glass 180 and was curious if anyone knew where I could get the best deal in the bay area? In addition, does anyone have a real preference between All Glass and Oceanic? If I do Oceanic I want to do the brick style so I dont have the huge glas center piece. With my initial research I am looking at a $400 difference ($800 for AGA and $1200 for Oceanic).

If you're willing to drive a bit to save some serious cash, Call Ted at tropical haven in Modesto. That tank should come in under $600. ONLY Ted can give you the price. He's the owner and does the custom tank pricing.

Yeah I've heard great thanks about this place as well and will probvably purchase my 240 from him when the time comes...

The fish there probably compare to 6th ave, or worse, but his tank prices can't be beat.

BoomerD, are you suggesting that he will do a custom tank for under $600? Do you know how his custom tanks come out? I don't want to worry about quality.

I have a standard 90 that I got from them several years ago. Same manufacturer. It's still as good as new, (albeit a bit scratched up) Give him a call. Only cost ya a few $$$ to find out. About a year and a half ago, I wanted to replace the scratched up glass tank that came with my 180. IIRC, the replacement was $435, but I don't think that included overflows, which were ~$50. each.

Oceanic and All Glass are actually the same company. The tanks are built a bit differently. We went with the Oceanic because we basically got it for the price of the All Glass, it was a great deal. good luck!

We got ours at O Street Aquarium in Sac. It was just a bit more than the All Glass....I think the difference was about $50. I can't say they will give you the same deal though, we bought one that they were trying to clear out.
