I have several Astrea snails in my tank. i was just looking at my tank with a flashlight, and i notice a lot of little white spots on the underside of the snail shells. they almost look like baby snails attached to the shell or some kinda hitchhiker. I have read about something that is small and eats snails like this so I hope that is not what it is. I will try to post some pics tomorrow if i can get it to focus and pick them up.

I noticed they were on all of my astrea's so I am not quite sure what to think of them.

It sounds like they might be pyramid snails. I've had these on my Astreas as well. They're bad for snails and clams. I've read you should probably pick them off by hand, which is what I did, but I still ended up losing the few Astreas I had. Supposedly six-line wrasses will eat them, but I never saw the population decline with my six-line. Good luck.
