How fast does montipora grow?

I just bought a brown w/ green polyped montipora. I just want to know how fast it would grow under power compacts. And is a 10$ montipora a steel for about two inches? Pics of growth would be nice too.:)

Under ideal captive conditions these corals grow very quickly. I personally do not have experience growing them under PC's. But I have had them under MH's and they certainly grow fast with good water parameters. Fortunately for your setup these, in general, are fairly adaptable to lower light conditions but you may see the colors fade substantially and growth may be fairly slow.
It is good that you bought a frag, just test it out, see how it does and if you can keep it. If there is any Stony coral you might be able to keep it would be this one. For 10 bucks, I wouldn't say it is a "steal" I mean you had to pay something right ;) but if you are happy with it then that's all that matters :)
