Has anyone out there compiled a list of all the local fish stores in the Chicagoland area? I put together a list combining the CMAS supporters page and some of the recent polls and threads I have read here on Reef Central, but I'm sure I'm missing some. This is what I have so far. If there is already a complete list out there, just point me in the direction, otherwise please add to/correct my list. Thanks for your help.

Not all of the above stores honor the CMAS discount. My concern with compiling this list was to find EVERY local fish store in the Chicagoland area. Maybe after the list is complete I can get help as to which ones will honor the discount, and repost the list with some sort of identifier like an * next to those that honor the discount.

Does anybody know how long it usually takes the administrator to reply to e-mails. I tried to edit my first post to update the list, but a message popped up that stated:

"The administrator has specified that you can only edit messages for 60 minutes after you have posted. This limit has expired, so you must contact the administrator to make alterations on your message."

It has been over 24 hours since I sent my e-mail asking to unlock my editing privileges for that post and haven't heard anything back yet. I was just curious if anyone else has had experience in doing this before.

Well, Chris's Tropical Treasures and Suburban Pet City are both decent f/w fish stores that have some saltwater fish. If you want to be complete.

And then there are the Petcos with saltwater. The one in N. Riverside at Cermak and Harlem has marine fish.

A little out of "Chicago Land" But I think he should be added to your list . He's just a few miles from the I39, I80 interchange. Nice guy, very helpful. I'm just starting out, but everytime I go there his customers give glowing endorsements.

mcrase, Thanks for mentioning Eddie's. I lived in LaSalle-Peru from the day I was born until I graduated high school from there. I was going to put Eddie's on the list, but thought it might be a bit of a stretch from the Chicagoland area. But, since you bring it up, I will add it to the list.

As far a Petco goes, I'm reluctant to add every one of them to the list. I have one up the street from my house in Geneva, IL that has 2 or 3 small tanks with a few s/w fish and that's all. I don't know. What do you guys think? Should I add all of them to the list, or not?

Just an update for everyone, Carlos has updated the list in the first post, so take a look and let me know if there are any additions or changes that need to be made. Also, I have put *'s next to Official CMAS supporters, and **'s next to stores that are not on the CMAS list, but have been known to give the discount. I only have one store with a ** so far, so if you know of a store that's not an Official CMAS supporter, but you know has been known to give the discount, let me know and I'll continue to update the list.
