got a new piece of live rock the other day. i put a light under it today and noticed some weird life on it. there is this patch of dark maroon --feels slimy--
the only way to describe the other thing is, it's clear looking, stationary, with a bunch of stuff sticking out like the bottom of a starfish.
i tried doing a search online and couldn't find anything that resembles the second one.. could the first id cyano slime algae?

ok i identified the clear thing, its a club tipped anemone

The other sounds like it could be a sponge or tunicate.

i think it could be a sponge.. but i exposed the rock in the air, shouldn't it be dead..? could it possibly be cyano too? i'm not sure
