Well, I added half of my LR, the other half is in shipping atm. 30g cube tank (20x18x19 I think). My goal is to have 2 ledges face eachother, both ledges will hit the surface. A 250w 20k halide will shine on sps, lps, ricordia and clams/plate corals. I was going for a 2 wall/canyon look originally w/o sand (I was going to place sps directly on the bottom glass/walls and have them grow up/out... corals won't be on top but instead will be on the walls/bottom... originally this wasn't going to be the bottom of acanyon (i.e. no sand) instead 2 canyons that are converging and it would be easier to keep clean w/o sand imo) but now I'm not sure. What do you guys think? I want to decide b4 the rest of my rock arrives (thur/friday) so I know whether or not to put a powerhead pointing at the bottom. THANKS EVERYONE!

Anyone have any pics of similar designs and/or sweet BB's? My last tank ricordia covered the bottom completely which was pretty cool.

Note: The other half of rock in the mail is Bali Ultra from Phishybusiness.com... I'll probably have 25# extra, anyone in the LA area need some rock??

I would give it a couple of months so that the rock may completely cycle and "shed" any detrious that is built up inside it. After that time you will notice significantly less "shedding."

At that time, if your flow is not too strong, add about 1/4" of sand. (I say not too strong, because 1/4" gets blown into piles easily.) 1/4" is easy to keep clean, easy to replace every 6 months, etc.

Be careful those rocks don't tumble :eek2:

Nothing to protect the bottom glass?

lol, there's only 2 rocks in there atm =) lots are saying sand on another site (looks, function, protection) so I'm probably going sand (unless there's a thunderous objection here)
