We just came back from picking up our frag of The Green Toadstool (couldn't wait till the swap) from Eriksmacks and we can say the picture he has of it does not do justice to this fabulous coral it is just an awesome specimine.

Awesome is all we can say Erik after just a few short hours it is fully expanded and loooking great definitely a great frag at a super price and to think I was on a waiting list to get the same thing from someone else @$60- 80 depending on the size and it was an honor to finally meet you Erik and am sure we will be seeing more of each other in the future

Yeah, that coral is sweet and tuff as nails as you said. I might have one piece left to trade but go ahead and post yours. It was the best find IMO at the last swap. That cement plug is nice:)

No problem, Im guessing I will have 8-10 frags at 25 dollars per frag. Beats the 60-80 tyree is charging for them.

Willie_6 the frag swap was in the spring of '05 - this is an old thread that has been restarted, but there should be another in the spring of '06.

Yep, this is just a old thread I ran across. The swap date isn't set yet.
This is just for the green toodstool leather with green polyps.
I can bring frags to the next mmeeting or pick will be fine in a few weeks

This is a sweet coral. I have one that came from Eriks mother colony. A guy in the for sale section is selling frags of this right now for $60.

erik, what lighting do you have yours under to get that coloration?
My frag from you has grown nicely but lost the nice bright green, (not complaning, it is a cool yellow/green in my tank)

I have it under 250 wat 10k xm, and have it close to the top of the tank. It likes a ton of light I found, which is unusual for soft corals. Try moving it up and see if it gets some more green back to it.

I have mine in the bottom of an 18" tank under a 250w 20k xm it is very bright green. Even did well through my recent N03 battle...

Maybe I should move it up, and see if it grows a little faster?

I will try to move it up a bit.I have it at the botom of a 70g. lit by a 400w 10K xm. as a young frag it liked lower light best, I bet it was still tender from fraging.

Thanks for saving one of these for me for the swap in March!!

However, I am going to give mine up so that someone else can enjoy this wonderful frag.

I am thinking very seriously about aborting my tank and selling everything. My first meeting friday was very enjoyable and it was really nice to meet so many people.

However, this tank is killing me. I have really lost all patience and excitment with it. I used to have a beautiful tank and after I added my MHs several months ago, almost all corals have melted down and the tank is now over ran with hair algea.

I will probably post all my equipment on here in the next few weeks.

Just wanted to say thanks for starting a frag for me, but I am sure soneone else will love it and it will look better in someone else's tank rather than my green septic tank.

Don't quit John. If you are really not into the hobby anymore I understand, but don't let a little hair algae beat you.

Have you considered cutting back the tanks bio load, and adding a better skimmer?Maybe add a big fuge for nutrient export? Start a new thread about this, and maybe some of us can help.

Thanks for the comments. I really have loved this hobby, but I am just at my witts end. I have no bio load except for a couple of snails, crabs and 1 shrimp. I am not going to sink anymore money into this hobby unless the tank clears before I can get a chance to tear it down.

As far as starting a new thread, I can do son in this furum maybe this weekend or sooner if I get a chance. You can also hit the search icon in my post here to the side>>>>>>>. It will lead you to every post and thread I have done. This goes back several months now so you would have to look through each thread I have started on the matter in the REef discussion forum. There are several on my tank.

Thanks and I will post another one in C-SEA, but I am really losing the will to try any longer.
