the infamous pyramid snail aka zoo eater? I have found a few of these and have pulled them out. I would really like an ID and a way to rid the tank of these if they are harmful

Hi,

That is an individual of species that grazes on the elusive diatom. The genus is called Collonista, see here (http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2004-05/rs/index.htm) for more information.
