Algae???

I recently purchased a 30 gal with about 40 lbs of Fiji liverock, 2 clarkii clowns, 1 yellowtail damsel, many hermits, several snails. I have an algae, (I think) that is growing like a sheet encasing my livesand and liverock . It is very dark in color. It is easy to peel away in bigger chunks without tearing. I moved the tank 2 weeks ago and have done a 5 gallon water change each week. IT is better for a few days and then starts growing again. I am looking for help on what it is and what I should do. Thanks from a person new to the beauty of reef aquariums.

It might be Cyano.

More water movement, more water changes, less food.

Should clear it up.

Thanks, I thought I was feeding them lightly. 3 times a day no more than they can eat in a minute or two. I could do something for more water movement though.

I agree, you need more water movement, and alot less feeding. I feed once a day...and I am leaning towards every other day to minimize nutrients.
