I have a Bali Green Slimer acropora and it is at the top of my tank. My question is, why is it growing downwards? The lighting that I am using are 3 X 250 Watt 14K metal halide supplemented by 2 96 watt PC actinics. IT LOOKS LIKE A WEEPING WILLOW! It is doing fine....polyp extention is good and growth is good. Any help please?

Well, I suppose it's theoretically possible that the light is too high, and it's trying to grow away from it. Don't know for sure, though.

I am using 250w MH on my tank also and I have found that my bali slimers do not like the upper parts of my tank, also may have something to do with current perhaps, just a guess, maybe corals sense which way to grow for better feeding etc, better current ?? but mine do the best toward the bottom of my 125...

Yes corals will grow towards or away from light. Current also can affect coral growth. But my bet is it is growning away from you lights.
