has this happened to anyone after aging saltwater, what is it, is is bad, and sould i do anything about it? I have plenty of circulation, a MAG12 is running in it

also.. any tips for controling hair and red/brown slime algae?

I notice the same thing with IO in my 5 Gal mixing Pail

Just looks like residue, I wouldnt worry too much about it. If you can rub it off with your finger, you should be fine.

I'm not seeing the pics posted but I had a white residue all over PH/heater today for the first time while mixing w/ IO salt.

I saw the pics this time and that's exactly what I had, plus on the powerhead and it baked on the heater glass. Here's my thread about the same thing in the Reef Forum and the responses I got....

There will always be some sort of residue unless you thoroughly rince out the tub with fresh water after every batch.
