size of skimmer chamber?

setting up a 180 gallon tank. not sure if will go with a 75 or 65 gallon sump. What is the suggested minimum size for the skimmer and return chambers in your opinion? The rest will be a fuge.

minimum size in relation to the skimmer foot print size I meant. Double I am sure would be enough..can i get much smaller? I want as much room for the fuge as possible.
