I did a 100% water change on my 125 gallon FO tank.
I did not however change my wet/dry water, bioballs, or filter material.

Should I expect a "cycle"?

I posted this in the reef fourm and realized it should be here.

Why did you change 100%? Where were the fish?

I originally had 6 damsels that I used to cycle the tank. Once the tank was cycled, I took them back to the store for credit. I then did the 100% water change and bought 1 tang and 1 gramma 1 week later.
The purpose of the water change was to replace tap water with RO / DI water.

I believe the majority of the beneficial bacteria resides ON things, like the tank, filters, rock, sand, etc, not IN the water. I think you should be fine. Just keep an eye on your parameters, and do partial water changes as needed. HTH

Hi Redspot,

No problem with a new tank. As Water Lily states, more bacteria are on the substrate than in the water column so a renewed cycle is most unlikely.
