I have a Yellow Tang that has been in my tank for about 3 months. He is doing fine but has a strange eating habit. When I feed my fish they all attack the food. I use Frozen food melted in a cup of water. After attacking the food he acts like he is sick and lays in the rock for a couple of minutes. He throws up some food and then seems to be fine. Is this normal?

Do you feed him any dried algae? Or only the frozen food? Tangs are grazers and like to nibble on algae...that's what they do in the wild. If you don't have an algae clip and sheets of algae, I would advise that.

That is not normal at all. I would ask in Fish Disease Treatment forum.

Your tangs actions do not sound normal...

I agree with what shealygg wrote, they definitely need some nori in a feeder clip. I would also recommend getting some garlic to soak it in before feeding.

I will try the nori and submit the question to the Fish Disease forum. Question: Do you just leave the Nori in 24/7?

Amen to the garlic....I use Kent's Garlic Xtreme.
