Hi guys,
I am currently trying to treat a nasty out break of ich.
I can't remove the fish from the tank to treat with copper/Hypo due to the size of my tank and the inablity to catch most of the fish.
I am trying to hold it at bay using garlic etc.
The question I have is to do with the duration that I have my lights on and the effect on the ich, it seems to get worse as the longer the lights are on, is it best to limit the time that I have the lights turned on and how long can I cut the time down to and still have enough light for my corals etc to survive?

Not that I know of. I have never heard a correlation between a longer light cycle and an Ich infestation. I would tend to think that this is just a coincidence. Leaving the lights off may help reduce the fish stress level which in turn could help them fight off the infection, but if you have a lot of corals, you can't just leave the lights off for weeks...
